Summer Camp Reminders and Update

Updated: Jun 14, 2019

We are extremely excited to have your troop experience Canyon Camp in just a few short weeks. As you finish your final preparations for camp, we wanted to send you a few important reminders and exciting updates.

-All Scouts should be registered online prior to their arrival at camp.  We have a short amount of time dedicated to any needed revisions during your check-in process, but it is easiest for you and your Scouts if no major changes are needed at camp.  Also, please note all prerequisites are posted here.  You can also find this information at www.canyoncampbsa.org/resources

-All adults must bring a copy of their current Youth Protection Training certificate if they plan on staying in camp.  It is very difficult to accomplish this once you arrive at camp, so this is extremely important.  This is a national BSA policy that we uphold.

-Familiarize yourself with the resources at www.canyoncampbsa.org/resources.  Specifically, be sure to read the "Check-in basics" document for an overview of your first day in camp.  We also have a troop roster form you can use for check in (required to have a roster on record), our full unit leader guide, meal menus, program schedule and more available on this site.

-Exciting update time: If you haven't seen on our facebook page yet, the high ropes course is officially installed.  Our staff is investing many hours into training to ensure the best possible experience for you and your Scouts at camp (for this course and all other areas of camp!).

If you should have any questions before you come to camp, send an e-mail at any time to program.canyon@gmail.com or call camp directly at 815-492-2175.  Thank you for choosing Canyon Camp, and we can't wait to share the Spirit of Canyon Camp with you and your scouts!

Sincerely, Dick Reynolds and Lee Binkley

Co-Camp Directors
